Meet our experienced, dedicated and friendly team
Peter Creber BVSC MRCVS – Director & Senior Vet
Peter was born and educated in Cornwall, prior to heading up north to Bristol to study for his veterinary degree.
Peter started his first veterinary role at the Avenue Road surgery (then part of the Gables Veterinary Group). In 1990 he took a year’s sabbatical to work as a locum vet in various parts of New Zealand, before returning to Malvern to become a partner in the practice.
The Gables Veterinary Group amicably split into its individual branches in 1998, and Malvern became the Avenue Veterinary Centre with Peter in partnership with Willie Campbell. When Willie retired in 2006 Peter took on the role of owner and director of the practice.
Peter lives in West Malvern. He is married to Sarah and they have three children, Tom, David and Rosie. At present they are down to one pet, a wonderful (but rather neurotic) seven year old Border Collie called Gully.
Recently Peter has purchased, with members of his family, a small area of oak woodland in the Wye Valley with the aim of managing it and improving it as a wildlife habitat. An exciting project!
Jonathan Tuthill BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS – Director & Vet
Jon grew up in Malvern and attended The Chase High School prior to going to The Royal Veterinary College, London, to study for his veterinary degree. After ‘seeing practice’ as a student at the Avenue Veterinary Centre, Jon started with us as a fully qualified vet shortly after qualifying in 2008. He became a director of the practice in 2015.
Jon has a keen interest in small animal surgery especially, but also enjoys getting out and about on lambings/calvings or general ‘fire brigade’ farm animal work.
Jon lives in Malvern Wells with his wife Emer, and their son Paddy. Emer worked at the practice for a couple of years before going on maternity leave. They have a wide selection of pets, including a very handsome Labrador called Dougal, Dottie the Shih-Tzu, and Molly the cat. They also have a selection of chickens, and an aging pony called Rudy. Jon and his family spend many hours walking their dogs over the Malvern Hills so if you ever see someone up there with a black Labrador and a small, white, fluffy dog in tow then it is probably them. Jon’s other hobbies include cycling, gardening, and travelling.
Clare Johnson BVM&S MRCVS – Vet
Clare grew up in Worcestershire, but then travelled north of the border to study in Edinburgh. After initially working in North Staffordshire, she joined Avenue Veterinary Centre for “just” a year in 1994. However, more than 20 years later she is still loving her job in Malvern.
