ChelVets are a dedicated out of hours provider who are based at Dragon Vets and are easily accessible next to the racecourse to the North of Cheltenham. They have a highly skilled, experienced, dedicated team of vets and nurses, who only work out of hours, to ensure your pet gets the best treatment and care. ChelVets have full access to your pets' records, so they can access our clinical records. This, we feel, is so very important to ensure the vet treating your pet has full knowledge of your pet's history to assist in the treatment of your pet.

When choosing an out of hours provider we made decisions based on what we would want for our own pets. ChelVets have a great reputation and have excellent on-site facilities. They are also staffed 24/7 to ensure your pet is monitored continually should it require emergency hospitalisation out of hours. If your pet does require hospitalisation or surgery out of hours it can remain with ChelVets until it is fit and well enough to go home – there will not be a requirement for animals to be moved from practice to practice – this is unique to ChelVets.

If your pet is hospitalised with us here at Avenue Veterinary Centre, then he/she will remain here with us overnight or at the weekend and will be monitored at an appropriate frequency – please feel free to discuss this with our team on a case by case basis.​

Other out of hours providers are available and you are free to use, but we recommend Chelvets due to their superior service, facilities, and access to records.
